Core mission

The Monitoring Engineer will assist the Team Leader in providing project management services and supervise the activities of the work supervisors within the framework of the Electricity Sector Adjustment Plan.

Core Tasks and Activities

§ Review and validate execution studies in collaboration with available experts;

§ Inspect, check and approve equipment used in accordance with technical standards and specifications;

§ Monitor the execution of the works in accordance with technical standards and specifications and in compliance with the contract;

§ Write weekly progress reports;

§ Prepare the acceptance of completed works so that they can be considered in the progress report;

§ Take part in weekly site meetings and prepare minutes and reports;

§ Supervise the activities of work supervisors.

 Required Profile

• Master’s degree (BAC + 5) in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related field;
• At least 3 years' professional experience in the field of design and studies, works, operation and maintenance of electrical networks;
• PMP certification would be an asset.

 Required technical skills

• Sound knowledge of technical fields (electricity, civil engineering, mechanics, etc.);
• In-depth knowledge of construction standards for electrical works and of regulations on protection, safety, health and the environment;
• Sound knowledge of tools and methods for quality control of electrical works;
• Sound knowledge of project and programme management techniques;
• Knowledge of budget planning and monitoring techniques;
• Knowledge of the public contracts code;
• Proficiency in office automation (Office suite) and business software (AutoCAD, Matlab, MS Project, etc.);
• Experience in team management;
• Good command of reporting tools and techniques;
• Proficient in French and English.
